Maya Kell-Abrams grew up in Berkeley, California and currently splits her time between the Bay Area and Los Angeles. She began her movement training in Tae Kwon Do and Modern dance but later shifted her focus to Street style dances. She received her Bachelor's degrees from UCLA in Dance and Gender Studies with a minor in African American Studies. Maya has performed with artists such as Billie Eilish, Banks, and Noel Schjaris. She is a Dancer, Administrator, and Events Operations Manager for Project Home, having performed with the company internationally, co-directed their HOMESCREEN film festival in 2021, and directed their live HOMESCREEN show in 2022. Maya has toured with Cirque Du Soleil in their 2022 show “’Twas the Night Before,” and has also performed with Beyond Babel in their San Diego and Off-Broadway seasons. In 2023, she worked with Urban Artistry and the Library of Congress as a Community Partner, helping to collect interviews and carry out archival work in multiple cities across the U.S. She is a member of Sour Patch Crew, Project Home, and the Omega Floorwork Faculty. Whether through dancing, performing, or teaching she works to employ her influences while upholding the values and traditions of the genres she practices.
